Long Gone
long gone the songs of yellowhammers and shining cuckoos . . . a day early I flip the calendar to next month's page
Hi there - yellowhammers are a small sparrow-like bird with a bright yellow head. They were introduced from Britain by Acclimatisation Societies between 1865 and 1879. See this link for great photos and some more information. http://nzbirdsonline.org.nz/species/yellowhammer Thanks for your questions! :-)
What are yellowhammers? Are they native to New Zealand?
