One Man's Butterfly Dream: NeverEnding Story

Last week one of my haiku appeared on Chen-ou Liu's new bilingual blog, NeverEnding Story, where he does Chinese translations of English-language haiku and tanka. The post with my haiku, complete with translations and Chen-ou's commentary, can be found here.

I've had a few more haiku and tanka accepted and look forward to them appearing in the future. To submit your own published or unpublished haiku and/or tanka for possible inclusion on NeverEnding Story, see this link. The best haiku and tanka from this year will be put into two anthologies, plus there is a $50 prize up for grabs for the best haiku and tanka.

I hope you'll enjoy taking a look around Chen-ou's one-of-a-kind blog project, and send in some of your work.

It's New Zealand Book Month!

March is NZ Book Month and so I headed to the library this morning to hunt out novels to read over the next few weeks, written by New Zealand authors. Here's what I'll be delving into in the days to come:

  • The Rehearsal by Eleanor Catton
  • Classical Music by Joy Cowley
  • Come Yesterday by Sue Emms
  • Towards Another Summer by Janet Frame
  • The Night Book by Charlotte Grimshaw
  • The Vintner's Luck by Elizabeth Knox

Find out more about NZ Book Month at their website, including info about events around the country, and to print out your $5-off voucher -- http://www.nzbookmonth.co.nz/
